The logo would be something simple that you'd find on a business card or on a banner somewhere. It should also be easily recognizable as being associated with Crumpled Paper.
It wouldn't replace Iron Kross.
It could say Crumpled Paper or just CP.
It should give the impression of something that combines engineering and art (but it doesn't have to). Like, for example, a C and a P separated by a wench that's half pencil. Something like that.

I think that's a great idea. Some sort of stylised, engineering-themed "CP" would definitely look pretty swish.

Greetings:
We need a logo. Something that we can identify ourselves with and for others to recognize.
The Symbol is just as... if not more important, than the name.
For the Riptide Project, Advent Childhe,

... May I...?
Just thinking one step ahead, a good logo can lead to a string to associated items and merchandise that could be sold at fundraisers (T-Shirts, pins, buttons, bookmarks, etc.). They generate funds as well as publicity, which will be a win-win situation.
A logo will be good for the magazine, most definately.
I remain, as ever;

one thing we've been playing with is the joined C and P... you can find it at the ends of articles and stories and mangas... you can also find it used for the Louis Vuitton handbag spoof in issue 4. it was a mini-logo thing that was cute and we've been incorporating into layouts for consistency sake that you may wish to check out if you haven't noticed it. Other zines like Macleans (M), Guitar World (GW) etcx100 do something similar. Most magazines for official logo pretty much just use their name in a particular type/font that's their signature type. We actually DID have that too - tho we switched it up for issue 4 - the alternate font was more "chiq" for the theme. Font is dictated by the FEEL we wish to achieve. Most bands also do the same - it's just the name written in a "special" way- no frills - eg. LedZeppelin Personally I think we should stick with simplicity - to start adding too much pencils and gears etc into the design - tho makes sense - doesn't usually look good. The CESA Times logo we designed this year had CESA and then "Times" smaller under it, and there was a subtly two toned red square behind the E. That's it. Had nothing to do with Chinese, or Engineering - Looks great - and there really isn't any ambiguity over what Times is about anyway! Additional writing/context can usually dispel ambiguity. I like the joined C and P + shadow because it's simple and looks designed and professional. You can keep using it for article endings only tho - it's just an example... OTHERWISE (or in addition)- I'd recommend doing a design that doesn't incorporate the name Crumpled Paper AT ALL: eg: the HIM logo: absolutely recognizable as HIM even without the letters H-I-M. dave mathews logo: Led Zeppelin has the flying angel guy.... Just loads of examples. They may not really have anything to do with anything - but gives the right feel. ALSO - we DO have mascots that we have attempted to keep on our products and stuff - like the bookmarks - to be recognizably ours... very few organizations have mascot bands (maybe we're the only one!). yes pocket mentioned and i'm mentioning again.

Yes, I enjoy art and that's why I work as a henna artist but I'm not commited enough to finish large pieces of work as I am to english. Also as you can see I don't have fancy computer-art skills therefore here is my idea. ^^

Hi Amcake,
We'll enter those as candidate logos in the upcoming logo vote. Thanks for posting them!
