I'm soooooooooooooo impressed with the amt of detail and the colours! this proves the depth of your character. that only care about hot chicks thing is SUCH an act!!
anyway: only suggestions would be to work on the figure in the foreground which doesn't do the rest of your piece justice.
amazing barry.
submit to CP.

Yeah it's really good but it looks like some random random picture you stuck the Anime North logo onto. Nothing in that picture represents anime or Canada. If one of the tall structures was shaped like the CN Tower and the face on the figure was more detailed and drawn in an anime style, it would be more relevant. It's a good piece on its own, without the logo.

yeah ideally she was suppose to be on top of the stairs, looking down on the street level....
hmm for the anime north idea, i was thinking Chinatown/Hk/ghetto Tokyo you always see in GITS and Akira...
yeah i have to finish it, and also extend the city... anyways..i reposted the higher resolution

hmm for the anime north idea, i was thinking Chinatown/Hk/ghetto Tokyo you always see in GITS and Akira...I looked at past entries and people were putting alot of 'canadian' symbols, I hated those type of designs because i use to wear those tourists t-shirts with toronto printed on them. Surprisingly bluenotes is selling the exact same shirts for 10 bucks...wtf! now there considered COOL?!!
yeah i have to finish it, and also extend the city...yeah i guess i should submit to cp too anyways..i reposted the higher resolution

lol... well that sounds good... although u can't use ur current style for those things... pple will hate u for it... since the strokes r too rough... u gotta be more meticulous w/ the details... rough textures suggesting details won't cut it in that area...

... May I...? ~Sigh... I've been away for too long, it seems. I'd almost missed this. To be perfectly honest, I like this picture a lot. I've always admired Barry's buildings ( this comes from someone who does background research on the background... I hope that means something ). However, I do not believe this will be a good entry for the mascot contest. For one, the contest rules did mention that the main focus is on the "mascot" Hippouno Momiji, and background is optional. This wonderful piece, however, is all background. As far as technical drawings go... HM is right on the details. But that's what training is for. Draftsmen make technical drawings for a living, as do architects. The drawing style in fields like these involve less "style" but more "accuracy". If that's what Barry has in mind for his future, he might want to look into designing courses in Ryerson University (the best in town for architecture, or so I heard). But... by all means, finish up the city, clean up the girl, and send it to CP and Anime IKU. This will definately be something to look forward to in the next issue, for me.
