hey, in light of the other thread about music and art, i figured i'd make an open call for making a "Video Compilation". A lot of us probably have music videos that we downloaded, and it would be cool to see some of these videos. SO, i was thinking that we could send in the videos we like to someone, and that person could compile it onto a DVD. And I was thinking that that someone could be me so what do you think? if you think it's a cool idea, respond to this thread w/ your suggestions. Make them into lists of 5 (max) in your order of favorites (if you got one). If the space is limited I would choose the top 3. And I may need to get a copy of the video from you if I can not get it. I look forward to your feedback

Greetings:
Well I am game.
However, the videos that I do like are sometimes hard to find.
I am probably the only one to suggest this, but put some of Eminem's videos on there. I just love them... they are so comedic.
If anyone out there can find Delirium's After All video, put that in. I am seriously in love with Jael. (grin) I would also suggest Enigma's "Push the Limits." great video.
Yours, Advent Childhe,

... May I...?
This sounds like a great idea! Top five videos may be difficult to choose from, though...
If I really have to make that choice, they would be: 1. Meat Loaf, "I would do anything for love (but I won't do that)" 2. Guns n Roses, "November Rain" --- don't these videos sound just familiar? --- 3. Michael & Janet Jackson, "Scream" 4. Mylene Farmer, "l'Ame-Stram-Gram" 5. Almost anything from the band Malice Mizer (although, I'd strongly caution against the perennial favourite "Illuminati"... viewer discretion is stronly advised...)
... Wouldn't it be funny... I though Eminem and D12's comedic videos are great, too. This is a man who knows how to make fun of what he (and everyone else) is doing. It's something rare in the world of gangsta-rap.
Enigma and Delirium are both pretty good, too.
Oh... by the way... I have these videos that I mentioned... If Tim can't find them, as some of them might be obscure, I will be able to provide them.

I've got a whole whack of Enigma videos, but they're on DVD (Remember the Future). I've never tried ripping videos from DVDs before, but I should definitely figure it out. I also have some good videos on another DVD. Hmm... Shall I try to send them to you over MSN, Amit, once I've got them ripped? I won't be back in the country 'til January 8th, though. Is that too late?
Also, what does everyone think of a CD of just music? This was also mentioned in the other thread and I wouldn't mind putting it together. Personally, I think I'd prefer a CD containing as many MP3s as we could cram onto it, but there's the alternative of making a CD of 18-ish .wav files that could be played in a normal stereo. I'm not so keen on the latter idea because it would drastically decrease the number of tracks we could have, but let's see what the consensus is. If y'all could send me the tracks you'd like to input via MSN (I don't have any file sharing apps on my computer) then I could start compiling it when I get back to Toronto in January. So.
Option 1: CD of LOTS of MP3s, which you'd need a computer to listen to or rip the songs with
Option 2: CD with a much smaller number of songs that you'd be able to stick into a stereo
I vote Option 1; what about everyone else?

I would go w/ Option 2 because it is more accessible (we can play it anywhere). It also forces us to be more discerning in our suggestions for tracks and it makes organizing them fun. You can organize the tracks all around a concept -or find some sort of link between the songs. The downside of Option 1 is that it can become too much, and it is a little too easy to do. I was thinking of taking this compilation one step further and making a front and back cover to it as well as having our own "limited run".
But either works ultimately.
Do you think that the MP3 CD should be separate from the video thing?

From me, I was going to put on: 1. Stroll On, by The Yardbirds and their notorious line up w/ Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page both on lead 2. Either Hey Bulldog or Revolution by the Beatles 3. Willie The Pimp by Frank Zappa (this was actually some sort of animation someone made for this) 4. Travelling Riverside Blues by Led Zeppelin (this was a video made in the 90s for a song that was a staple on their live act early in their career.) 5. Body Movin' by The Beastie Boys (this is hillarious) I also want to cheat and add more (My Favorite Game by the Cardigans, 2000 Light Years From Home by the Stones) -maybe I can use up Genna's selection if others don't want to submit extras Any one else?

Greetings:
I also liked the video to Massive Attack's Teardrop. However, I do like that song mostly for the song.
If anyone is in for a little bit of Mad max.. we can always have a go at the olde California Love when Tupac was still around.
But seriously, if any one is going to make such a collection... put in After All from Delirium.
And add Euphoria (firefly) by Delirium in to the mix too. What a lovely song.
For the Riptide Project, Advent Childhe,
